Frequently Asked Questions

For Artists, Labels, and Content Owners

What products am I able to sell with Vinyl Exclusives?

Artists, Labels, and Content Owners can sell a variety of vinyl products with Vinyl Exclusives, including standard 7", 10", and 12" sizes, and multiple vinyl color options. The content must be your own, with full rights to produce, distribute, and sell.

Vinyl products can be made customizable for your fans to build, or be pre-set offerings intended to sell out as a short run.

Vinyl Exclusives prides itself on customizing to match our partners' visions, so if you have something in mind that isn't on the site, reach out and we'll work with you to get it done!

What's the process of selling and production? How do I sign up?

The first step is to work with us to determine exactly what vinyl product(s) you would like to create and/of offer through Vinyl Exclusives. From there, the simplified version is...

  1. We work with you to design and publish your product(s).
  2. Once a product is live, we can work with you to host the product page on your site, create marketing materials and help reach your fans. We can also help design live experience merch sales opportunities!
  3. All ordering and customer service flows through Vinyl Exclusives, and we send quarterly reports + payments based on sales activity

What's the catch? Where are the fees?

There are no upfront costs to work with Vinyl Exclusives -- all production charges are covered by the purchase price. Vinyl Exclusives handles all production, hosting and eCommerce fees, as well as customer service, as a part of those production charges. In short, there is no catch!

Can I set a bulk order / discount policy?

Yes, but there may be conditions. For example, Vinyl Exclusives requires a minimum sale price and profit split percentage may be impacted by a lower price set.

Can I order a few records for myself?

Absolutely! We are happy to provide wholesale pricing for limited personal / promotional runs if they are associated with a product you are hosting through Vinyl Exclusives.

If you are not hosting a product through Vinyl Exclusives, but want to simply order a short run of vinyl, we do offer short-run pricing as well.

Tell me more about the materials used

Your vinyl records are produced from high quality PVC blanks, cut in real time individually for each order.

Center labels are printed in full color with glossy finish and hand-attached to each record. Your full-color jacket artwork is completed with a semi-gloss finish.

Each record is professionally shrink-wrapped and shipped in vinyl-specific packaging to ensure safe delivery.

For Customers / Fans

How do I get my favorite artist to do this?

Put simply, tell them about us! And reach out via our Contact Us page, so we can follow up with them to let them know that there is demand :-)

What is your return policy?

REFUNDS

We can provide refunds at any point if production has not yet begun on your record. As our products are custom-made, one-of-a-kind creations, once the product has been made we cannot provide refunds.

REPLACEMENTS

Replacements may occur when your record has arrived with a defect that materially affects the quality of the record playback. Examples include warped sound, consistent skipping, or tracks that you did not request being used in the production of the record.

Although our records are designed to be enjoyed for years, vinyl records are a physical media, and may wear down after repeated use or by scratchings, bumps, or other household mishaps. As such, all replacement requests must be made within 6 months of the date your vinyl was delivered.

1. We will email you a return shipping label. Affix that return label to the original packaging, making sure to cover the original shipping label. NOTE:  All returns must be shipped in original packaging or a box that is able to maintain the integrity of the vinyl itself. Any records returned in bags or padded envelopes will be returned to sender without opening.

All records must be returned in the sleeve and jacket. Mailing an unprotected record guarantees it will be damaged in transit, and will be returned to sender without review.

2. Secure the package and drop it off at your nearest USPS location (or simply with your outgoing mail).

3. We will examine the returned record for defects and determine whether the record should be returned or replaced.

Please note that we are happy to send replacement record labels if your custom label did not print correctly. However, as custom labels are a free, non-guaranteed service we provide for our customers, we will not be able to replace an album due to a custom label issue.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for any returns to be analyzed and communicated.

POST-PURCHASE EDITS TO YOUR ORDER

If you make additional edits after submitting your record for production (e.g. requesting a new jacket photo, or changing out a song), we will do our best, but manual updates may not get reflected in your order.

If your order does not reflect manual updates made after the fact, we will do our best to issue a replacement, however will not be able to provide a refund. Please do your best to have complete information available upon purchase!

Do you ship to my country?

Yes! We ship all around the world. Shipping is free in the USA, but for international orders exact cost and timing can be chosen at the shipping section of checkout.

How long will my record take to create?

Average production time is 2-3 weeks, but given the custom nature of this product that timing may vary. Please reach out to us via the Contact Us page if you have any questions about your order!

Can I customize my record beyond what is available on the product page?

All customization options are approved by the Artist, and unfortunately we are not able to further customize products beyond what they have set as their options.

What can I expect from the listening experience?

Generally, you can expect a high-quality (and certainly 100% unique-to-you) vinyl listening experience! But it is important to remember that lathe-cut records are not the same as mass-pressed vinyl. As a result, there are a few differences to expect:

  1. Lathe-cut records carry a different background noise than pressed vinyl. You may even notice a 'hum' in between tracks.
  2. The start and end points of the groove may not line up to pre-set turntable settings (although our records will play on any turntable). This simply means that you may need to (i) manually set the stylus onto the groove to start the record, and/or (ii) turn off settings that automatically lifts / stop the tone arm at the end of the record.

If there are any quality concerns or questions, always feel free to reach out!

Can I change my order after purchase?

The short answer is yes! The longer answer is that we will do our best, but manual updates may not get reflected in your order.

The custom vinyl creation process is very detailed and laborious, and our production team will do its best to accommodate changes made after the point of purchase (as long as production has not yet started on your record).

If your order does not reflect manual updates made after the fact, we will do our best to issue a replacement, however will not be able to provide a refund. Please do your best to have complete information available upon purchase!
